This project was a $50 million adaptive reuse of an historic 1926 office building into a four-diamond luxury hotel. All of the public areas feature the extensive use of classically detailed architectural woodwork. The first floor spaces, including the two-story main lobby, as well as the restaurant and bar, feature naturally finished full-height Mahogany wall paneling. The second floor meeting rooms and pre-function area feature naturally finished Mahogany wainscot and trim. The third floor ballroom and pre-function area feature painted wood wainscot and trim. The guest room floors feature painted wood trim. The classically inspired interior design was conceived to complement the exterior restoration of the renaissance style architecture. The dark natural finish plain cut Mahogany was used throughout the main lobby, restaurant and bar, giving it that traditional club atmosphere. ISEC met considerable installation challenges with the extremely large wall panels and complex radiused wood assemblies, along with careful fitting to the other fine finishes, including marble floors, wainscot, base trim, and the decorative stair railings.
