Washington, DC

Australian Embassy

ISEC won the 2024 Washington Building Congress Craftsmanship Award for outstanding Architectural Millwork for our work on the Australian Embassy. We completed extensive interior architectural woodwork, including wood paneling, custom wood doors, ornamental metals, millwork, and casework. Key challenges involved the main atrium and staff hub atrium spaces, requiring collaboration with Clark Construction and other trades. The project used hand-selected eucalyptus veneer from Australia, with materials fabricated in Australia and Canada amidst the global pandemic, making logistics complex.

We installed approximately 32,000 sq. ft. of Sculptform’s architectural wall & ceiling batten grilles, a proprietary product of aluminum wrapped with hand-selected eucalyptus veneer, shipped from Australia to the US during COVID-19 restrictions.
